Today, Danilo Plessow is a globally influential DJ and producer celebrated for his music expertise and technical prowess. His eclectic spirit, ability to bridge gaps, and a vast record collection define his artistic persona. Danilo's musical journey began at age 6 with drumming and blossomed with a love for jazz in his school band. By 11, he was crafting original productions, blending jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, and house.

Under the alias Inverse Cinematics, Danilo debuted in 2000 and later launched the acclaimed "Raw Cuts" Series as Motor City Drum Ensemble. His label MCDE Recordings, featuring artists like Henry Wu and Laurent Garnier, became a modern house classic. He gained renown as a remix wizard, reimagining tracks by Tony Allen and Caribou.

As a DJ, Danilo seamlessly blends his collector's passion, technical finesse, and emotional depth. He's curated compilations like "DJ Kicks" and played at renowned venues worldwide, from Horst in Belgium to Montreux Jazz Festival.

In 2017, he realized a dream, inviting Disco legend Leroy Burgess to perform in London. Danilo continues this collaboration across Berlin, London, and Paris. Amidst touring, he hosts the "State of Rhythm" radio show on Worldwide FM, featuring music luminaries and emerging talents.

Alongside Marcus Worgull, Danilo runs Vermont, a project inspired by kosmische and minimal wave. Their collaboration with Can's drummer Jaki Liebezeit on their 2012 album made waves. They're currently working on their third album.

In spring 2021, Danilo released "Fabric presents Danilo Plessow/MCDE," marking a new chapter. He envisions more artistic ventures and focuses on production and sound engineering. His recent releases, "Nightfall" and "Decay/Sustain/Release" under a new alias, Basic-Variation, offer a glimpse into his dynamic 20+ year career.
