Holding a strong appreciation for the sounds of Detroit techno, and Chicago’s golden house era, Marli reflects these styles in both her original productions and her DJ sets. With a history of formal music training, and years spent studying production, her original works have laid the foundation for her sets as a selector, frequently playing at local hotspots Dr Morse, Xe54, Section 8, Glamorama, Ferdydurke and Revolver Upstairs. Thus far in her career, Marli has earned support slots for the likes of Detroit Swindle, Ben Rau, Harvey Sutherland, Gerd Janson, Ben Pearce, Big Miz, Sally C, Project Pablo, Black Loops and Folamour.

Landing sets at renowned festivals Pitch Music & Arts and Let Them Eat Cake, her list of accolades is proving she’s on an upward trajectory. Having released her debut track ‘No Service’ on Brazilian record label Yellow Island in 2020, this was quickly followed by her contribution to Melbourne based Love Above Records compilation with her track ‘Meet Me At The Corner Of’. With a string of releases scheduled for 2021 on local and international labels, Marli’s productions are earning her a reputation as one of Melbourne’s most exciting new creatives. Weaving between genres deep house, soul, and disco in sets which maintain heavy syncopated rhythms and laden with rich soul samples, a showcase from Marli harbours a warm nostalgic vibe throughout.
